Ben Babbitt, Head Ability Coach

Competitive History:

• Raced for the Crested Butte Academy as an internationally FIS ranked skier
• Member of the Rocky Mountain All-Star Team for five consecutive years
• Member of the Rocky Mountain Regional Team for four consecutive years
• Crested Butte Academy Athlete of the year in 2001 and 2002
• Former member of the NDS speed squad
• Have traveled abroad to compete, including Chile, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, and Austria
• Competitor on the NorAm circuit for five years with many top 20 finishes
• US Nationals competitor for five consecutive years from Big Mountain Montana in 2001 as a J2 to Sugar Loaf Maine in 2005

Coaching History:

• First year as Ability Head Coach, third year as EMSC coach.

Other Occupations:

• Full time student at the University of Colorado, majoring in Political Science (Currently a Senior; Dean's list student)
• Former head of Maintenance at Crested Butte Condo Management
• Former Carpenter for Alpine Construction

Hobbies:

• Ski Racing, Biking, Wakeboarding, Hiking, Golf, Enjoying the outdoors, engaging in philosophical/ intellectual debates, Good music/ Concerts, Friends and Family

• Has to be either Sushi or Good Ole' Southern BBQ. Depends on the occasion!
