Freestyle & Freeride Team Core Values

Build Confidence. Have Respect. Enjoy FUNdamentals

The Eldora Mountain Freestyle & Freeride Team is an entry level program into the competitive world of freestyle and. Our team of proficient skiers and snowboarders (age 9 – 17) expand their Slopestyle and Big Mountain skills with the help of certified coaches, dryland training, and having a blast on the snow with team mates.

If you’ve ever wanted to hit a rail, drop a cliff, or send it off a jump, the EMSC Freestyle & Freeride Team will help you build the skills and confidence necessary to nail tricks with technique and style.

The team offers a variety of opportunities for aspiring freestyle and freeride athletes to learn more about the sport, advance their abilities, make new friends, and be apart of a positive team. This is done through:

    • Dryland Training at Progresh
    • Early Season Training at Loveland
      • Starts Saturday October 28th
    • One Day Competitive Team (Saturday OR Sunday)
    • Two Day Competitive Team (Saturdays AND Sundays)
      • Training starts November 18th
    • Thanksgiving and Holiday Camps
    • Compete in events throughout Colorado
    • A positive Team

New team riders will learn about competing in events  and develop their personal riding and style, giving them the opportunity to understand different techniques and explore where their passions lie.

Returning and more experienced athletes may already have a favorite style and spend more time training freestyle in the park or freeriding the big mountain.

  • Athletes MUST hold a Competitor’s Membership
    • USASA and/or IFSA
  • First season athletes should compete at least once
    • Rocky Mountain Freestyle Series (Schedule TBA)
      • Geared for those new to competition
  • Returning and advanced athletes should compete in 2-5 events
    • Slopestyle (USASA)
    • Big Mountain (IFSA)
      • We highly encourage developing athletes to try both

Our certified coaches work with each athlete to help them meet season goals and prepare to compete in at least one competition throughout the season.

All team athletes must be proficient all-mountain skiers. They need to consistently make parallel turns in trees, bumps, and hold an edge while connecting carves on black runs. They should be comfortable skiing switch (backwards) on all groomed runs.
