Timed training, video, mentorship and training will intensify with competition specific participation, commitment and Team Travel.
Full Time U16 Ability Program
- Dryland Dates: August 5th, 2019-December 13th, 2019
- On Snow Dates: TBA (depends on snow, though usually mid to end of October)-May 2020
- Description: The Full-Time U16 Program will partner with the EMSC U19 program for progression based fundamentals while increasing training course opportunities through weekday and weekend training. Weekday training for FT athletes will be comprised of individual or shared full-length course sets with the U19 program, and occasionally shared lanes with the NCAA CU Division 1 Ski Team. Weekday and weekend training sessions will incorporate drill courses, freeskiing, and race day simulation with a prepped surface, slip/inspection, timed training/ video, and veteran athlete mentorship opportunities. We will focus on increased elements as they relate to tactics and technique in both GS and SL, and occasional SG and DH, which will benefit the FT U16 athlete as they prepare for upper-level competition. Additional weekday and weekend speed elements and increased opportunities aside from Holiday Camp projects will provide SG training, sectionals, full-length course sets as appropriate and with calendar/competition prep. Pre-season and post-season travel to training opportunities will be held at Loveland Resort, beginning mid to late October depending on snow conditions and will conclude after weekend May Training at Loveland, A-Basin, Winter Park, etc., depending on late-season snow conditions.
